A hilarious fictional telling of a true event, Monkey Mountain is set in the midst of the Great Depression. Its various characters interconnecting stories center around twelve-year old Nancy Johnson and the Monkey Mountain at Frank Buck`s Jungle Camp. Excitement enters Nancy`s world as she is caught up in the mayhem that ensues as hundreds of monkeys escape from the zoo. Like the fugitive monkeys, Nancy and the others learn a thing or two about breaking free to follow a dream. Some will, some won`t, and some can`t.

Available in print and e-book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Featherweight Press Store.
Attack Of the 50-Foot Teacher. It was Halloween.
And it was a school day.
The children were eager for school to be over.
Everyone was excited about going trick-or-treating.

Everyone except for Miss Irma Birmbaum, the toughest teacher in town. She`s so mean that she assigns homework on Halloween!

Then Miss Irma Birmbaum is magically transformed into the 50-Foot Teacher. Nothing could be scarier than a fifty-foot Miss Irma Birmbaum, right? Unless the world`s biggest teacher also has the world`s biggest smile. And the world`s biggest heart ...

Lisa Passen says, `Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays, and watching good old bad science fiction movies at that time of the year is a real treat for me. It was a lot of fun working on `Attack of the 50-Foot Teacher.` I hope children, parents, and teachers, too, have fun reading it.` The Incredible Shrinking Teacher. It`s almost summer vacation, and most teachers are throwing parties for their students. But not Miss Irma Birmbaum. She`s the toughest teacher in town. Who else would give homework for the last day of school?

The assignment is to be prepared for a surprise. Miss Birmbaum is secretly planning a party, but she has a cooking accident as she`s making treats and suddenly shrinks. With lots of help from the students Miss Birmbaum finally returns to her usual size and they all have the best end-of-school party ever.

This is a perfect companion to the hilarious `Attack of the 50-Foot Teacher.`

Lisa Passen says, `I couldn`t resist bringing back Miss Birmbaum, the toughest teacher in town, for another mysterious adventure. After becoming a giant teacher in `Attack of the 50-Foot Teacher,` what else could she do but become a miniature teacher? I hope you can see my deep affection for those good old, bad old science fiction movies of the 1950s, and I hope you have fun watching Miss Birmbaum as she becomes smaller, and smaller, and smaller.` The Abominable Snow Teacher. School is cancelled for a snow day! The children are having so much fun that no one thinks about schoolwork. No one but Miss Irma Birmbaum, that is. Who else would ski through a blizzard to bring children their textbooks?

But on the way a mysterious shock turns Miss Birmbaum into an Abominable Snow Teacher! Can the students show this huge, hairy teacher how to have fun before it`s too late?

The fierce but lovable Miss Birmbaum returns in this laught-out-loud companion to `Attack of the 50-Foot Teacher` and `The Incredible Shrinking Teacher.`

Lisa Passen says, `The toughest teacher in town, Miss Irma Birmbaum, is in another fine mess! As you read `The Abominable Snow Teacher;` I hope you laugh like I do when I watch those good old, bad old science fiction movies of the 1950s.` Uncle’s New Suit. The old Victorian house - oh, it was so crowded - with Mom, Dad, Joe, Nana, Poppa, uncles, aunts, cousins in all sizes, two cats, a dog of dubious pedigree, and even a little green turtle with his own plastic island. It`s a family where your business is everyone else`s, and everyone has something to say about everything.

One special day, everyone in the house is buzzing with excitement. Uncle Carmen has a new job - it`s in an office, a suit job! `No more he be a waiter!` Nana announces proudly. Now all he needs is a suit, so the whole family escorts Uncle Carmen to Mr. Herbie`s for Men and Boys. But Uncle Carmen keeps stalling - he can`t afford to buy new clothes. How will he pay for a suit?

Kids everywhere will recognize themselves and their relatives in this humorous story of one family`s warmth and generosity.

Lisa Passen says, `Al the characters in `Uncle`s New Suit` are real people - real as I remember them. And the story is true, sort of. We lived in an old house - my parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, cats, dogs, turtles and sometimes birds, fish, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, and hamsters.` Fat, Fat Rose Marie. `Fat, fat Rose Marie!` sang Genevieve from the back row. All the kids around her laughed - just like when they laugh at my freckles and red hair. I didn`t laugh at Rose Marie.

Rose Marie is the new girl in class and everyone but Claire seems determined to tease her about being overweight. Only Claire notices her big blue eyes and her talent for math. The two girls become fast friends and are happy to share their lunches and play Movie Stars after school - until Genevieve pushes Claire into a test of loyalty and friendship.

Told with Lisa Passen`s characteristic humor and insight, `Fat, Fat Rose Marie` is a thought-provoking story of the importance of accepting individuals for who they are, and of the value of a true friend.

Lisa Passen says, `Like Claire, I was always shy and awkward. It was easy for me to identify with children who wore thick glasses or the wrong clothes, or spoke with an unfamiliar accent, or were overweight. People can seem mean and unfriendly, but maybe they just don`t understand. Rose Marie understands, and I think her story can help other children to understand, too.` Grammy & Sammy. `Grammy sat down on Sammy`s favorite chair.
Sammy arched his back and hissed at Grammy.
...I knew we were in for trouble.`

Grammy has just arrived - not for a visit, but to STAY! That`s okay, but when a battle between Grammy and Sammy, the not so easily displaced cat, rages all over the house, the rest of the family is caught in the middle. Oh, why can`t Grammy and Sammy be friends?

Told with droll, deadpan humor and illustrated with a deft and witty hand by Lisa Passen, this hilarious tale of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object is sure to bring smiles to grandmothers and grandkids everywhere.

This is Lisa Passen`s first picture book. Miss Birmbaum, Attack Of The 50-Foot Teacher. Interior art from `Attack of the 50-Foot Teacher.` Book Covers Lisa Passen.
